AHeartof Worship

Sunday Worship is an occasion to celebrate our faith in Christ through word, song, symbol, friendship, and devotion. As we gather for worship, opportunities are given for both silent meditation and collective prayer. The sound of our bell and the sight of our historic sanctuary, built in 1870, may remind us of our past, but the participation of our children and youth inspire us to value the present moment and look with hope to a promising future.

The simplicity of our Congregational liturgy invites active participation by members of our congregation as we proclaim together the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The music of the Chancel Choir contributes to the beauty of worship, while the sermon encourages us to embrace the timeless narratives of Scripture with the contemporary stories of our own lives.

Worship service is at 9:30am. Church School and Nursery are available at all services. Each month, we celebrate the Lord's Supper, an event open to all persons who claim faith in Christ.

STATEMENT OF FAITH We believe in God, the Father of all creation, and in Jesus Christ, his Son, our Lord and Savior, and in the Holy Spirit, our Comforter and Guide. We believe in the Bible as the record of God’s revelation. We believe in the practice of prayer, and in eternal life. We believe in the freedom and responsibility of the individual soul and in the right of private judgment in all matters of conscience. We believe that our first duty is to love God, and to seek his Kingdom and righteousness, finding salvation from a selfish heart and living in loving service to others. We believe it is the mission of the church to share the Gospel with all people. In this statement of faith we affirm our loyalty to Jesus Christ and our commitment to do God’s will.

CHURCH COVENANT We covenant with this church as our church, and with one another as Christian disciples, to walk in the ways of the Lord made known to us or to be made known to us, both in the Scriptures and contemporary revelation. We agree to practice and teach in the truths of the Gospel, to cooperate in the orderly administration of the affairs of this church, and to walk together in brotherly love.
